Would anyone know how much power i would get out of i took everything out that belongs to the A/C like the Condensor the Pump hose and all those GOODIES!

i dont really need an exact amount but just an estimate and i know its not a honda where they gain like 20HP extra just from that crap but i have a 91 BMW 318Is

You will save some weight but when the AC is off all the engine is pulling is the pulley. hard to imagine that takes much power.

You can't take off too much weight and the compressor, condensor, and aux fan together do weigh a bit.

I'll bet you could drop an easy 40-50 pounds with removing the compressor & condenser. I don't know how many HP that equates to, but pulling that weight out of the nose would definitely help handling. Can't beat the price either.

The AC system has nothing to do with defrosting anything.

havnt started on it yet waiting for my $200 head gasket..... to come in today so i can begin puttin the shit back together and then imma take out the condensor and the pump etc... ill let you know what gets hard and how i did it lol..

Taking out the A/C was simple, first empty out the Free-On thats in the A/C (Note that this is illegal as it puts holes in the O-Zone lol) but i did it anyways then Detatch that hose that holds the free-on off the Compressor once thats off theirs a wire on the Compressor which we yanked... the next thing is to take out the Condensor which was simple you'll be able to do that by just looking at it lol

Freon btw.

Also, take extra precaution when evacuating the A/C system, wear eye protection because if you get freon in your eye, it will blind you.

i'm thinking of ditching my AC, because my compressor is seized so the belt has been taken off, and i have no money to get a new compressor, so now all my AC is is dead weight.

I recently sold an AC system to someone on R3V and packaged up it weighed about 45 lbs.
