Yes, it matters how the 2 peices are aligned when they go back together (easy, just make a mark with whiteout).
Yes, you need to preload the CSB when installing it (push it forward about 4-6mm then tighten the bolts down)
You really should read a solid DIY, get a Bentley, or even ask before you dive into a project like that. It isn't particularly difficult, but there are things you really should know before just jumping right in. Those two simple things would have saved an irritating headache.
Not trying to be mean, and I hope I don't sound it, but I really like to see people ask questions on the forums. We all have to learn sometimes (hey I made a dumb mistake myself when installing my new driveshaft and had to take it all apart again!). This is what our great members are here for. We are all here for each other and more than willing to lend a hand.
