urgent help needed - realoem part no. and photo
« on: July 11, 2009, 06:39:51 AM »
hey all,

i've a photo here of a part i need replaced and i'd like if anyone could say if it's definately a part on the diagram i've linked.

This part is cracked and is leaking fuel under the air intake manifold.

Is it part no.15 on the diagram?

Massive thanks to anyone who could answer this or give an opinion.. I am 90% sure it's the part.

I'd agree.  It's just standard metric fuel hose IIRC.  8mm ID x 13mm OD (usually just called 8x12), available at the dealer.  I'd stick with the OEM BMW stuff, it lasts much longer than the generic hose from parts stores.  If you need it in a hurry, go take the hose with you & just size it out there.  Be sure you get high-pressure injection line, not low pressure fuel hose.

You might want to pick up a few clamps too, those anti-tamper BMW ones are silly and annoying to tighten properly.

do you mean 8mm inside diameter and 13mm outside diameter? cause that seems right then..

should I get two of no.15 then and 4 of no.17?

thanks!

If I am not mistaken I changed these when I redid all my lines.....These are Fuel Injection Lines which are HIGHER pressure then just standard fuel hose...Auto parts stores sell both types...Make sure you get the Fuel Injection type...

i'm pretty sure i've got the right one now ordered through BMW parts store.

just thinking, i ordered two fuel hoses but one would have prob been enough cause they prob come longer than two inches?

Just go to any auto parts store.

Ask for a foot of high pressure fuel line.

Buy 4 high pressure fuel line hose clamps.

Cut the exact length needed with a box cutter.

Done.
