Cam cap pressure tool? ABSOLUTELY needed?
« on: July 09, 2009, 03:46:58 PM »
Ive read into it, and I know it would be good to use, but is it really needed? I dont cut corners at all by any means, dont get me wrong, but if it can be done Id rather break shit and just by a new head then buy a special tool I might never use again, or didnt really need.

Any feedback is appreciated, if I definetly need it then Ill buy it. Thanks.

I did not use one.  I just backed off each nut 1/4 turn at a time.

Thanks. I heard from a couple other people its not needed. You could get 4 used heads for the price of the tool anyways.

yeh exactly, just take your time.

its more nerve wracking when you're doing it with an inline 6 cam but its doable :)

I have taken multiple cams off, just take your time and loosen in a even sequence.  Once you crack one in half, you'll really learn the limits.  :D
