I removed my fan clutch and bought a 16" 2750CFM electric fan. I also took out my acc fan b/c I removed my AC. I am going to mount the fan between my FMIC and the rad.

I don't have fogs so could I use the wiring and all for the fan? Is that a bad idea? I would have to do the independent fogs mod so I could use the fan w/out the lows on :rolleyes:

I don't need it to be wored up to be automatic, I want just an on/off switch. I have both the euro and US fog light buttons. Is there a better/easier way to wire it up?

I would wire the fan using the temperature switch in the radiator for safety - overheating. Plus all the wiring and relays are in place. I would also keep the fog wiring in place in case you ever wanted to retrofit for the same reason.
I'm pretty sure there are two auxilliary fan relays - low and high speed (water temp and A/C). A manual switch could be added to the second fan relay. You could probably access it in the A/C wiring.
I wouldn't trust myself with only a manual switch for keeping the coolant temp down as I might have a "senior moment".

well which wires from the ac should I use? And how do you wire it up to the temp switch? I think there's a thread on either r3v or e3t but I can't find it

The temp sensor in the radiator and the A/C system both run the original fan in front of the condensor. I'd use the wires going to the original fan diode on the fan bracket to power the aftermarket fan as they are already wired through the water temp sensor, A/C system, and relays. The low pressure switch that was on top of the A/C drier will keep the fan from coming on with the nonexistent A/C. Possibly the A/C compressor button would turn on the fan if you jumped the low pressure switch.

well I hooked everything back up today and its golden. I am only at like 1/4 most of the time and almost make it to 1/2 when I am pushing it hard. For this reason I really don't see a need for an auto switch if you will. A manual button will be more than enough. I woun't need to run the fan unless I am in stop and go or auto-xing etc.

What would be the easiest way to wire it up like that?

you dont want to be a 1/4, you want to be at 1/2 all the time. I just got a fan too and am trying to think of how i should wire it. I think i am keeping ac for now, but can i still remove the factory fan in front of the condensor and have my 3300cfm fan on the rad? also does any one happen to know at what temps the factory switch in the rad kicks on at?
