Author Topic: Can someone check some wires for me? (Read 3434 times)

Hey guys, I'm in the process of putting my car back together, and stupid me, I didn't take pictures of everything before taking things apart! There's a switch that goes into the side of the radiator with three wires, I believe they are red, green, and black. Can someone tell me the order of how they plug in? I apologize for the cross-post from r3v, but a speedy response would be awesome!

I think they're Bl/Br, Gr, Bl. Center is ground.

The male connector's plastic shell has a curved edge, a flat edge, and an inwardly-notched edge.

The curved edge is on the side of pins 1 and 2, the flat edge on pins 2 and 3, and the notched edge with pins 1 and 3.

Pin 1 -- green/black wire
Pin 2 -- black wire
Pin 3 -- brown/black wire

I'm posting stuff as I get to it. Just helping out. I'll be swapping that for a cooler one anyway...once I get that resistor wired I can eliminate that as a problem.

I'm thinking this little switch is the main culprit, but every time I fix one thing it turns out that another component is bad...fuse is under-rated, relay was borderline, switch lower range is incorrect...no wonder the car is overheating!

The A/C ties into this too; it's now partially fixed.
