Hi can anyone help?
i have a 1992 E36 318IS which i recently replaced the engine due to me not heeding the call of a failing chain tensoiner. got another M42 lump from FAB direct and is all fitted in the car with my OMVL Dream XXI sequential LPG injection.
Due to the old lump being gas converted i used alot of the parts from my original engine (inlet/exhaust manifolds and majority of sensors including recently purchased O2 sensor).
Now the problem if i coax the engine by feathering the throttle i can get the car to drive fine, albeit a little sedate, and it will crack on for a fair bit of speed. The car idles fine too, but if you put your foot down the engine becomes unresponsive and slows down in some cases. This problem is the same if i run the car on LPG or petrol. The car also had its M.O.T. and passed its emmisions test.
Can anyone give me any pointers on where to look?

AFM, I'd guess. Test it through it's sweep range and take a look at the intake temp sensor directly in the middle of the AFM airflow.

I checked out the AFM and inlet temp sensor today, all checked out fine, also sprayed some easy start round the engine to see if it affected the idle speed but nothing.
Anywhere else i could look?

Throttle position sensor? Maybe it's not reporting WOT?

I checked the throttle position sensor today and that checked out ok aswell. not sure if it could be fuel pressure problem as i have a LPG injection system which operates alone, and the problem is there no matter which fuel type i run on.

Did you check both ranges of the tps, one range increases impedance as the throttle increases and the other decreases impedance as the throttle opens. Also, please post some pictures of your propane (LPG) injection system, this is the first m42 that I have heard of with that conversion

Yeah i checked both ranges, it tested ok with throttle opening and closing. As soon as i can put my hands on a camera ill post some pics of the conversion work.

do you have the electrical repair manual and a multimeter
