I received the following @mail written by Jim Goodroe of DA - maybe someone is interested in their Supercharger-Kits.

You are receiving this because you have inquired in the past about our complete, bolt-on DowningAtlanta Supercharger kits for BMW E36 four-cylinder cars.  You may have been told we were out of the supercharger business because the manufacturer had discontinued the blower model we have used for many years.

I am happy to report that we were able to accomplish another production run of our superchargers and we will soon be shipping kits again.  The price of the complete, bolt-on kit will be $3,850 and, for orders placed by July 15, 2009, we will offer free shipping within the lower 48 states, an up to $75.00 value.

If you own a 1992-99 E36 318 (M42 or M44) or a four-cylinder Z3 (M44 only) and are interested in vastly improving your vehicle’s performance, please contact us for more details.  We have already begun accepting orders and expect to begin shipping kits by the end of June.

nickmpower-I called jim from Iraq for my purchase of the supercharger before they decided to temporarily shut-down and I had to wait for another pulley to be fabricated.  I asked him did he sell the manifolds separately, because I wanted to powder-coat it, before the supercharger would be on it's way.  I was told that there sold as a unit and they wouldn't make a profit from selling individual parts.  It makes a lot of sence, because being a well respected company such as DASC having the only set up for 4 cyl as one unit--then yes I wouldn't sell separate items if I were going to lose money.

Grassroots did an e30 installation, I own the car now. There isn't a lot that is different. From memory the fuel pressure regulator isn't in the same place, they modded a rail and put the regulator on the driver's side fender. The brake fluid canister had to be moved, they used one from a 2002 and mounted it to the wiring cover on the firewall. You would want reroute all the hoses under the intake while you are there. The ICV needs to move. Mine is laying on top of the intake manifold for now.

GRM replaced the fuel injectors, I don't think that was really necessary. They bought a chip for the ECU, I have no idea if that is still available.
They also added an inline fuel pump. That wasn't necessary, I've read that the stock pump is good for much higher power than the setup will make. They ended up at something like 34 psi for their injectors.

You also need to either swap to an all serpentine setup or the intermediate step that was on the 92 to 94? 318s. Probably worth asking DASC if they could help with that.

DASC has answered every question I've had along the way promptly and with a much better memory that I would have expected. GRM will have the back issues on their setup.

So. putting one on an e30 is definitely doable and probably less difficult than rolling your own turbo. I haven't driven either a NA or turbo e30 so I can't compare.

Thanks for your update to the GRM project. Glad to hear that you are happy with the set up.
