« on: May 06, 2009, 02:41:42 AM »
hey guys going to install my bilsteins and vogtlands, wanted to do my rear shock mounts and possibly my front strut mounts.
do you guys recommend going the aftermarket route for the rear shock mounts?  the akg or the turner ones?  the akg are pretty pricey at 100/pair just wondering if you guys think they are worth it.  also any suggestions on the strut mounts?  im installing ie camber plates wondering if specific mounts are needed.  thanks.

People have used the e46 rear mounts as they are beefier and direct fit. When I replace mine, that is the way I will go.

Bimmerworld has a set that is I think 35 plus shipping or so and their guaranteed for life. Pretty good considering the stock ones are 5 dollars less and are known to fail.

jt? Sorry I'm not familiar w/ those initials...
The IE ones will work, just a lot more expensive and not needed. I almost bought the rogue ones, but am not gonna track the car, just a daily driver so don't need to spend ridiculous costs on the car.

I have the GC ones on order right now, so I'm gonna have to go w/ those for a camber plate. I've heard horror stories about the ireland's actually raising the front end on cars when they put them on because the camber plate is so large.

You could also use the stock e30 cabrio rear mounts which are beefed up over the coupe/sedan e30.  P/N #33-52-1-132-104.
