Performance Ignition Leads
« on: April 27, 2009, 02:09:35 AM »
Hey all,

Does anyone know much about the Performance Ignition Leads that Bavarian Autosport are offering? If they are any good, and worth the money. I've been looking at them for a while, but without knowing anyone with them, it's hard to know how they run.

here is a pic of them

And here is the site where they can be purchased.

http://www.bavauto.com/shop.asp

If anyone can help out, that would be great...

cheers,
Jester

Bavarian autosport leads are a waste of money at $190.  Any comments on the forum has made them out to be a big disappointment.  BMW replacements are crazy expensive.  Your best bet is for a bosch set - Part Number: W0133-1606391 retails for about $100.

Benefits for coil on plug are nil.  Read http://bmw.e30tuner.com/my318is_mod_1.php - who also has nothing good to say about Bavarian Auto leads.  The only reason to go Coil on Plug is to free up space in the engine bay - no performance gains.

Generally speaking, Anyone who says that huge performace gains are to be had with better ignition wires or special spark plugs is just after your wallet - no gains are to be had out of the stock ignition, particularly if your motor is at or near stock.

I have tried Magnecor plug wires, and I was really impressed/satisfied with the results. they were not cheap, but very good investment.
they were 8.5mm, part number 45314. £90.70
