my front seats are shot in my DD. ive got a 89 volvo 240 at the shop that i blew up a few years ago thats got comfortable front seats. how hard would it be to adapt the volvo seats to my e30?

cut hte rails from the e30 seat and put them onto that. the only issue with welding seats to the e30 rails is that the new seat will sit pretty high and you might rub the headliner.

im pretty sporty with a welder i might be able to make something work. its juts those old volvo seats are sooooo comfortable

I think I saw somewhere E36 seats don't quite fit, but the rail swap could be possible?
I tossed in some iS seats (sport seats) in my 318i sedan, they are awesome and the fact they can be tilted forwards (for rear passenger entry in a coupe) makes for easier loading of large cargo, etc.
You could even retro in some factory heated seat looms

My driver seat is broken and shot to shit in my car as well, so I was looking to replace them soon,, anyone know of a comprehensive list of seats out of other bmw's or other cars with comfy seats that would fit our e30s?

anything will fit with a welder. as far as drop in, hmmm, only other e30 seats.

i love volvo seats. soon as this weather breaks im gonna see what i can do to fit them to the stock e30 rails.

I did the same thing with a set of black leather 325is recaro sport seats. Awesome seats and I can flip them up for large items or a cranky kid. Let me know if the Volvo seats fit - they are really comfortable. My '86 SAAB 900 had really great seats too until the padding died, wonder if they'd fit? Best seat warmers ever.
