NA Dual TB Project - Questions
« on: April 21, 2009, 06:32:26 PM »
Hi, I've been reading around here for quite some time but didn't post much, however I really enjoy this site. I have an E36 318Is with the M42 Engine.
I want to experiment with throttle bodies, I know the S14/S52 TB is a quite common swap, but I've been playing with the thought of using two linked M42 TBs on an custom composite Intake, I've allready started aquiring parts for this.
The main restriction in air flow is the AFM though, so my question is, could I use an diferent AFM from other engines like the M50/52, or M60? Has anybody done this, I've tryed searching, but got no answers :( They should have less restrictions, but is it an direct plug and go change?

Thanks, many pics to come, as I get the project moving :)

Well thats the problem, I don't know of an local company that can reprogram standart ECUs and I don't want to go the aftermarket way, I'll have to see how it works with the standard AFM then.

m5x or S5x do not have an AFM. If your going to go to the work of dual TB's then get at the very minimum, a piggy back system
