+1 for a Mark D. If you have 93 octane available to you, I hear the chip he has for that is especially good. Regardless, watching the tach go off the end of the scale is pretty exciting. :D

I've heard that a lot of these Ebay chips just copy the exact same setup from Mark D, Conforti, Dinan, etc. It's more expensive but I think it's "better" to support the people who actually created these setups, rather than the guys who are just copying them.

Some of us are on budgets... go with a pro formance chip from ebay.  Best bang for the buck.

I'm all for supporting ppl who support the e30 community, but a $200+ difference in price is too much for me to justify.

I just can't beleive that my M42 chip is similar to a Dinan.   Since you bought it on eBay, how do you even know it's actually a Dinan chip and not a clone of mine?
I'm curious how you have one of mine if you didn't appear to actually order one from me.

There are reasons why one costs more than the other.   I've analysed a few "pro formance" chips and lets just say the guy selling them does not own that intellectual property.
Your post is trying to justify stealing someone else's work.   Would you also go into a grocery store or Walmart, or wherever and take some items because you figure thay cost too much?
Or if you saw a poster you really liked that sold for $100, would you photograph it and make 10 more to sell at $20 each?    Or how would you like it if some poor people broke into your home and stole your TV?

Couldn't agree more.

I've been looking for a performance chip for my 95 318iS for a while now. Got one off eBay, and it didn't work...not happy.

What type of chips do you offer Mark D? And where do you post?

Cheers,
Jester

i purchased one of these chips not too long ago. Didn't actually do anything...i couldn't even start my car

personally, i don't think they're worth it. i got a full refund for mine...so i wouldn't bother.

if its not asking much Mark D pls oblige on how i will be able to get one of your "chip" (cost, shipping and all that jazz) and whats your edge from a JConforti chip?
gearheads over on this side of the world are leaning more on JCs than Mark Ds
tnx in advance budd.
