well, ive got some cash, and some time..

so i guess its finally time to lower my 318i...

i want to do it right the first time, and i'm looking to straight out SLAM it.
and im not into all that spring cutting bs, i dotnt want to cut corners.

Ive seen the bavauto kit, it seems like the way to go... ive heard there to soft, and dont lower it enough...

and im not looking to spend more that $500-$600usd

post your spring/shock setup, tell me how you like it, how much it cost(if you dont mind:rolleyes:), how much you scrap the oil pan, maybe throw some pics in?

It's really hard to SLAM a 318is without coilovers. I bet you could piece together a used kit for close to $600 though.

yea, i was talking to a friend of mine...he told me the same thing,

im just looking for a nice upgrade, with lower ride height...

eibach, just comes up with e36 shit??

so does bilstein.....

I've never heard one good thing about Bav Auto Springs. They sag, they're soft, and the powdercoat finish on them flakes off prematurely.

Are you looking for just shocks/springs for $5-600? I'd call Patrick @ BMA (http://www.bmaparts.com). He can probably hook you up with a set of Bilstein Sports and 318is specific H&R Sport springs for $600. That's what I run, and I love them.

I tossed on set of Eibach springs (pro kit) and love the mix of handling and ride quality, especially with american roads

I installed Koni single adjustables and H&R 29664 springs. The Koni's are nothing short of astonishing. Comfy if you want them or adjustable for track days. There was a lot of previous hub bub on this forum about harshness of Bilsteins, but it is a VERY subjective thing.

The Koni shocks weren't cheap, but I could not be happier with my set up. "Febi Guibo" on this forum has the same set up and has a bunch of pictures on here. Seek them out.

Probably not the the advice you're looking for, but check your local JY for springs. I've seen so many aftermarket springs on JY E30s, I lost track.

Find some slightly used springs on a forum and get bilstein sports.

If the car is a DD then get the H&R sport spring or something comparable and if not then get the H&R race springs.

not around here, ive scavanged soooo many e30's in the jy looking for what i want, nothing hardley left, bottlecaps are about the only thing you can find around here with ease.

I have H&R Sports and Bilstein Sports on my 4-dr. You'll like them alot.

From experiance of lowering many cars customers or my own or friends i would have to say the best ride for a DD car is the eibachs and bilstein sports by far. What i would do if i were to do it on my e30 again though is get the bilstien HD shocks for the rear and do the sports in the front with the eibach springs.

. They actually ride well with konis (I currently have bilsteins, which still aren't bad) and you have complete control over rates and height. Price may be an issue, but the conversion minus shocks is only $400.
