just bought a 1985 325eS (PIX)
« on: February 07, 2009, 07:59:55 PM »
the good:)
its diamonshwartz
2.7L (w00t)
5 spd.
imaculant interior
///M steering wheel!

the bad
needs the oil pan put back on it
dry rotted tires
someone stole the radio
few like maybe 4-5 rust spots smaller than a dime
needs..NEEDS a wash, its been sitting under a tree for 2.5 years.

heres a few pics....anyone guess what i paid for it???:p

i'm thinking about partings the body out, since its soooo clean, the pix dont do justice, keeping the motor, grabbing  the i head off of my 87 vert parts car and 2.7L stroker FTW in a 318i!!!!1!!

just thinking out loud here, but how much would it take to drop a 2.7 into my e30 318i??

i like my 4 door better anyway, the 2 dr coupes just give me a cramped feeling....thats why i'd rather pull the motor, and build it outside of the car...drop it in the car at around 400whp ...but thats probably a quick way to gt my self killed.:o

any thoughts and or opinions are welcome :)

I would throw an m30 in that bish. Putting an m20, be it built or not, in your 318i is a step back. Looks like a great pick-up for 400 bucks none-the-less.

400 whp out of an M20?

You'll need a BADASS turbo set up.

I quite like the dirt.

It's like proper rat look, as in, it's for real.
Most rat look cars have been purposely molested to look that way, but this one hasn't.

They need a lot of power. My 325 doesn't even try to start if there's anything less than 100% charge in the battery. If it hasn't been started in 30 hours, it needs jumping from another battery or power pack. That is a bit severe, and hopefully it'll be sorted out with the next service. But your car hasn't been started for three years. That's a long time. I'd have to jump mine off the mains after that long. Have you tried bump-starting it? It's a good way to tell if the engine is seized.

yes, we tryed...

it still wouldnt turn over..

im thinking either some sort of the relay's are bad..

possibly a bad ecu

the door will ding, the lights will come, the horn will blow, but the fuel pump doesn't prime, nor does the gas gauge jump up any, (when they should even if its on complete empty)...

and next week im pickig up a 1987 325i convertible that the timing belt snapped on and bent the valves...

picking it up from a friend for 180$!!!1!

ahhhh im over whelmed with projects right now...but i cant be turning down these prices when i could sell a few things from the car and make my money back.

Cars are so cheap nowadays,
it's so crushing every time I have to let one slip away,
one that normally I could afford, but now can't,
and probably never ill be able to again.

i'm finding them wrecked, not running, blown up, or just cheap and buying them

i'm slowly gathering parts for a complete motor swap and cash to fund it(yes im making money on the cars) by parting them out( need any e30 parts let me know, ive got lots and LOTS of them for sale...)

as for the eS, i dont know, it seems like too nice of a car to strip... i may fix it and make it DD when i finish the 318

but i digress....

the next car i plan to buy is a wrecked, possibly totalled 1998 e36 M3...FOR CHEAP
anyone guess what i'm doing???? ;)
