Let's see. ...

Blower motor doesn't blow; consequently can't use A/C
No glove box
Cracked dash under dash cover
Tiny rip in DS seat
Defroster doesn't work
Busted antenna prevents radio from working properly
Steering is tight, but lacks feedback; prolly  needs new control arms
Slow power steering leak
Odometer only lived to see 130k miles
I replaced the differential with a medium case LSD and now I'm getting very slightly noticeable noise-- probably from DS center bearing
The brakes aren't quite right and I don't know what's wrong. They take too much effort. But no fluid loss, no sinking pedal. And no uneven pad wear, even though I suspect a bad caliper
I had condensation in the oil this winter and last. But nothing now.

...........hmmmm

- Need a new top. The rear window is coming undone due to original threads that are rotten.
- Need driver side door panel(tan)
- Need brakes and front struts. (M3 suspension including subframe and brakes from a 98 M3 pending installation)
- Need to push out some metal on the door to attach M-moulding securely. (Body work was done, isn't necessarily straight)
- Headliner "Bat wings" or "dog ears" (whatever you want to call them) are broken.
- Need complete exhaust. Catalytic converter is not there, just a straight pipe with bad welds.
- Lately, the engine hesitates when I stomp on the accelerator either while driving or at a red light. (What can this be?)
- Need to rewire fog lights. Tire was rubbing on a wire and completely stripped about 6".
- Cooling system waiting installation
- Want to replace timing components. (Pending cooling installation to do it all at once)
- Need cowl cover. The rubber is literally breaking off, not sealing the bottom of the windshield.
- Need to reupholster rear seats.
- Need to wire up side markers. Wires are missing for some reason.
- Need power steering pump
- Need A/C compressor
- Need drivers side window regulator

I think that's it for now......

-Broken odometer at 83,000 miles
-Front sports seats were slashed before I got it

-Previous owner took out the wheel speed sensors so the ABS is unplugged
-Suspension is ruined
-No Muffler (new one in the next day or so)
-Few small dents on the front quarter panels and hood
-Missing basket weave hubcaps
-Oil Leak (dropping the pan soon)
-Needs Tires
-Probably needs timing
-Rust on sunroof panel
-Rust around the inside edge of the trunk
-Needs new brakes... bad...
-Loud transmission whine when downshifting
-A/C doesn't blow cold
-Still has one of those retarded diffs
-Needs a paint job
-Shitty aftermarket shiftknob that comes off
-Steering is far off from center
-Worn Carpet
-A/C button broken
-Car key is really worn and only likes to work in the trunk
-Radio doesn't work
-Passenger seatbelt spindle doesnt retract well
-Sunroof doesnt crank
-Missing front valence (found a volvo one that I am cleaning up for paint)

That is about it... or atleast all I want to think about...

"I'll write a list of what actually works instead.
- steering rack is excellent.
- suspension is good enough to highlight the woeful chassis flex
that's it."

That made me laugh. Nice one.

Great thread! Good idea! :D

I'm waiting for a new handbrake cable to arrive, old one snapped
In the near future i have to install the ABS pump. My car didn't have ABS so i just finished swapping rebuilt front struts and rebuilt rear trailing arms with new bearings, bushings, etc.
Well...that's about it. Thank God. :)
I\'m here to kick ass and chew bubblegum...i\'m all outta gum :D http://www.e30.ro!

Listed in order of importance:
Overheating.  Aux fan won't turn on unless ignition is on/engine off.  When the engine is on it won't turn on at all.
Stereo rewire is a fail.  Not sure why, except that the Blaupunkt I bought is a POS.
Left fog light broken.
Sunroof is really fubar.  Cables I bought were almost as bad as the ones they replaced.
Trunk leak (again).  WTF?!?  More silicone & POR-15 in the future...

Needs:
4-hole injectors (waiting)
COP kit (waiting)
Hose delete (planning silicone hoses)
An e36 rack (looking at pick-n-pulls)
Maybe some HIDs in illegal Euro smileys...if the price is right, if ever.

Fixed?
Power steering pump grinding away...P/S fluid & belt delete cured the problem.
Needs new struts.  Junkyard Bilstein Sports cured the rear-end hopping.
Just fixed the pulsing brakes with second-hand PowerSlots & EBC greens.
Differential grinding away, fixed with a medium case 3.73 LSD.

1991 318is. Hi mileage car, drives great but after an hour or so of driving I get this low frequency throbbing noise right around 2800 to 2900 RPM..all gears. Any thoughts? I'm thinking u-joint, rear end, God forbid engine.
