318is E36 speed clocks

Can anyone help me out on this

when driving the clocks will just all fail and go down to 0mph and its as tho you have turned the ingition off so I have swapped the clocks from another E36 and they all work all ok but they are from a 328 I think and the speed is wrong so what I am asking is can the 318is clocks be fixed and if so what is wrong
