springs without shocks.....?

Is there a problem with just replacing the springs?  My shocks are fine but I would like something a little lower/stiffer.  So I would like to just replace the springs with some H&R sports.    I understand it is a lot easier to change the shocks while I have it all apart but not sure if I want to really spend the money right now.

Does anyone have a set of springs forsale?

do you have stock shocks? if they're stock, getting lowering springs wouldn't be such a good idea. stock shocks are designed for stock ride height...

That is one thing I was worried about....

So I probally should wait a little bit more to get springs and shocks.

they will just wear out a whole lot faster with the lowering springs on there....have patience and save up for the whole kit

i may have a front set of bilstein HDs that have less than 600 miles on them... if youre looking for a cheap way to get everything... do a lot of people here use HDs?

I'm running HD's with H&R sport OE's. Dude8383 has the setup as well.

I've tried both HDs and sports. I prefer the sports. Puting lowering springs with stock shocks is not really a good idea. Besides, shocks are not all that expensive. TMS has a package deal on H&R sports and Bilstein sports for 600$.

HD's and Sports have the same valving, they're just different in size.

Bilstein HD - stock height suspension setup (H&R Sport OE)
Bilstein Sport - lowered suspension setup (H&R Sports)

As of this evening, I'll have HDs and stock springs.  ;)  "Unfortunately," it will also have a new water pump, thermostat and radiator.  ugh!

In general, you don't want to do springs with OE dampers, unless they're almost new.  Even so, the spring rate and lowering will cause them to retire earlier than they already would've.  I'd wait until you could do both.
