I have rear trans and shifter seals coming from BMA. What size is that big bolt. Will a 1/2" drive impact loosen it? How do you hold the shaft from turning. Will just putting it in 1st. gear do it? What about the shifter seal. Anyone ever do one of those?. The oil quickly destroys those rubber bushings in the exhaust bracket. Discovered a neat way to raise the exhaust. Put two big washers under the rear trans support bushings. 1/4" there raises the cat and resonator 1/2".

I replaced the rear shift seal (or whatever you call it) when I did the short shift kit. I think I used needlenose plyers and a small bearing puller to get it out, and knocked in the new one gently with a socket. Mine was leaking a little.

Perfect time to rebuild your shift linkage. And, if your rebuilding your shift linkage, it's probably a good time to replace this seal.

I don't know what other seals you are referring to though.

The transmission tailshaft seal. The piece the guibo on the front of the driveshaft bolts to.

Oh, no.. I didn't replace that one. But, I'm sure it will leak soon. Everything on my car seems determined to break itself all at once.
