Will this work in a 318is with the correct code plug?

i could be wrong but im pretty sure that the tackchometer wont read properly because of it being from a 6cyl engine it has somthing to do with the resistance of the tack signal wire.

I was under the impression that the correct coding plug would make the tach read properly, but I have no actual experience with it.

The incorrect coding plug will cause incorrect readings.

fuel temp mph should be ok but im pretty sure the tach will be wrong. I know when my buddy swaped a turbo m30 into his e30 m3 he had to change the cluster to get it to read and even work properly. so just to be safe i would try to find the proper cluster it will be less head ache. but the 325 one could work too so you could just try it out if thats possible.

Tried one from a 325i transferred my code plug over. All works as it should except the fuel gauge. Shows alot more than actual. I guess the fuel gauge for the 318is is specific.

Guys, the cluster in motometer clusters in the 89-91 325s is exactly the same as the cluster in the 90-91 318s, do you honestly think BMW would develop a completely new cluster board for a car in production for 2 model years? Swap the coding plugs and everything will be as it should be. If you are having erroneous problems, consider it operator error.
