He guys I was working on my engine again today, was alligning the intake manifold from DBilas for ITB's and was wondering how other people modified the fuel rail to make it fit. The 2 fuel pipes on the bottom of the rail need to be bended or cut off and plugged but since this is a fuel rail I dont want any fuel spraying around my enginebay and I do want to keep a fuel return line. I also checked to see it the fuel rail of a M40 might work but that really wont fit..

pics of your dbilas setup? how much did you pay for... i am planning to do the same this summer.. just need to finish my engine...

Well i use the dbilas itb intake manifold since that is impossible to make yourselve, was something around 180euros shipped. The dbillas is also plug and play, except for the fuel rail, havent decided on brand for the bodies het because im putting my engine together just now

A lot of folk make up fuel rails using extruded aluminium tube designed to be drilled and capped as fuel rails, such as this:

only the lower part? why not the complete thing?

Because I have access to a wide variety of different types of TB�s, different lengths and at a much lower price that DBilas is asking. Also I dont like the looks of the airbox they make and was planning on making something custom. If all that fails I can always go to DBilas. That intake manifold was relative cheap compared to making something myself

ok! and this others ITB you are talking about? brand? direct bolt on? diameters? etc..
for this summer i need a ITB setup for my new engine.. some kind of track setup! because i cant run that on the street... would be illegal ;-)

have an appointment beginning of februari with a race engine builder close to where my race-team is located, will go over with them the various options as for lengths etc and calculate the optimal ones to work with my cams and custom ecu and my requirements. After that I should know the volume my airbox will be to get that M3 sound. The builder has a warehouse filled with different TB just sitting there, will post pics when Im done there!
The MOT in my country can also get difficult, althou as long as your exhaust fumes are within limit there is no problem thou. What also helps is that the car/engine doenst look like a track car. So all the steel brake lines and bushings need to be painted......
