Im new!

Figure I'd post here. I've been into E30s for years and have dealt with a few M42 trannies and misc parts but not a full motor until recently. It seems like a very stout motor and looks very similar to M50s. Actually startlingly close to an M50.

Any tips and advice to working on these motors? Can I take the head off without taking out the cams? Well without a special tool?
