cat mod

on my new to me 318. I get to do a head gasket, etc for my x-mas present, yipee

noticed, when I drove the car onto trailer, that the gasket is leaking  between the cat adn the exsaust system

have read here where people are haveing trouble wiht their cats at about
130k, mine has 142k on it
now years back I know some guys that used to take a rod, and knock the center out of the cat ( chevys, etc)
im in a state with no local inspections, dont want my cat plugging now, and cant afford to replace,
so what are your thoughts about knocking the center out or eliminating
...oh of course.....for testing purposes only ( my disclaimer)

if you decide to knock out the center... be carefull NOT to touch the inside mesh liner. it doesn't come out easily, if you do manage to get it out, and expect to have a more raspier exaust sound.

i run straight pipe 2.5 to a dynamax superturbo.

sounds great, and pisses the neighborhood ricers off every morning around 6:30 :cool:

its hard to get more than 100 for a used cat any more, btw they buy them for the platinum
