had a little time to work on the car:D managed to change the chain and sprockets. wasn't as hard as i thought!
it all started here:

chain pieces in the oil pan... not good
and then...

worn sprockets.
the weekend i came back to fix the chain issues, i had news that the car was brain dead. huge electrical problem and about nothing worked. got tired of poking stuff around and decided to just take everything apart and then put it all back together... and it worked!

once that was solved, i could finally tackle the chain issues! pics of the work...

simple yet effective cam locking tool

stripped down timing case

a new sprocket in. when i got them, 1 of the sprockets had it's pin sheared off! so i took the 2 old sprockets and the bad one to my local tool store and they just pressed out the rest of the sheared pin and replaced it with a pin from the old sprockets... and it works great! no problems at all!

all the new pieces in.

after putting it all back together, i had a surprise when i took out the flywheel bold/pin i used...

thankfully it didn't affect timing. so next time i take off the crankshaft bolf, use a stronger bolt or replace before proceeding! oh and while i was in there, i changed the front crank seal, but it uncovered a huge grove in the pulley's seal contact. anyone had an idea of how i can fill the groove???
here are a few pics of the car at random times
