LSD and Tranny Question
« on: December 12, 2008, 07:52:28 AM »
Ok guys I looked Through the archives to find answers but still have a couple Questions.

1. My diff tag reads S 4.10  8611

The S means LSD, 4.10 Gearing but what does the 8611 mean? I only ask because my diff has a electronic sensor on the back of the housing. Is this the Torque Sensing Version?

2. Is the Tranny tag on the Transmition or Cross Member because I seen Both in the archive. Does anyone have a Picture of were and what it looks like so I'am not just over looking it?

Thank You for The Info. This Site is very Helpfull. :D

Was kind of looking for a more specific location than on the tranny, LOL. Vehicle speed sensor make sense. Then how do you determine if you have a Torque Sensing Differential?

Thanks

look underneath the tranny, close to the engine. it's in a "rectangle", possibly covered with oil and grime along with the rest of the tranny.
