Official Dynolicious Results Thread

Got an Iphone or an Ipod touch? Well get the latest version of Dynolicious and get out there! What is Dynolicious?
http://www.dynolicious.com/
But is it accurate?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-DFbJQbeSY

Here is the format. Include your modifications, weather/altitude, results and a graph if you have one. If you include the horse power estimate it spit out, please specify the weight you entered and the drivetrain loss you used. In order to keep the results comperable, please use 0% drivetrain loss aka wheel HP. I know this will produce a lower peak HP number but it will be much more useful for comparison purposes. Time slips from a real 1/4 mile track are also welcome. I'll start.

1991 BMW 318i
2900lb (2650lb car + 200lb my fat ass + 50lb full tank 87 octane)
22# injectors, CAI, 3.64 open diff, manual steering, efan 195/60R14 tires

that is pretty cool.  the garage419 video was good exposure for the program.

I don't have an iphone/touch, but I could convince my friend with one to buy the program.

so you input the weight and just mount it somewhere to the car?

I've had this program for my 3G since it came out, and still haven't used it.  Whoops.

Thanks to Brad at http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/7567/ticevalleysiggv7.jpg">Shutterflick.com for editing the sig.

You can just mount it and go. The weght you input is only used if you want a horse power estimate. Otherwise weight is irrelevant. For moaccurate results, I should weigh the car.

Can I post a dynograph in this thread?  Managed to hit 135.4 a couple weeks ago... I was surprised, and extremely pleased I must say.

i have an ipod touch, but my car is on the other side of the planet from me :/

all the same this looks cool- i was just reading about it the other day, but you've provided more detail. it may not be as accurate as a dyno but as long as your mounting setup is consistent it should allow you to establish a baseline and see what changes do for you. someone on e30tech was looking at making iphone/ipod mounts that replaced the OBC, but i haven't seen anything about it in a while? i'll look again.

also, 3.73 nothing... you need a 4.10LSD and more tire *grin*. and as far as your results, a better launch should see you turn a 15sec time; seeing as your 60' went up i'm betting you cooked the tires on the dig a little bit? if you want a cheap solution, the small-case 4.10 is gonna be coming out of my vert in a week or two... open, but you could always weld it :D

The way you mount the ipod/iphone is really irrelevant as long as it doesn't move during the run. I use a stip of velcro on the center console. The accelerometer resets its baseline position before every run. As far as the differential is concerned, my car had a 4.10 LSD from the factory and I sold it soon after I got the car. I hated that differential. Way too many revs for a daily driver. I doubt the 4.10 would be any quicker in the 1/4 because I would be forced to shift to 4th gear before the end of the run. We've  already established that a 3.64/3.73 diff is quicker to 60mph because you can get there in second gear instead of having to shift to third at 55mph. Also I think I was having some major traction issues because it was 32F last night vs 48F a month ago. I think ideally I want the temperature to be in the 60s or 70s for a perfect run. So next time, 3.73LSD and maybe some warmer temps should to the trick to get the car into the 15s. Also the ebay chip was worth 17 WHP which I'm absolutely thrilled about.

Please get home safe
cheers
Justin
