Remote Start

Just wanted to get opinions on remote start brands. I'm hearing DEI, any specific considerations for a manual 91 318i? Did any manual 318's have a neutral position sensor, and has anyone ever remote started their car with it in gear?

There is no neutral safety switch on these cars, and remote or otherwise starting while in gear with the clutch engaged will result in the car lurching forward (or backward) and stalling.
You would have to make sure that you left your car out of gear if you wanted to remote start it.
