Sunroof Seal replacement
« on: November 15, 2008, 04:30:30 PM »
My sunroof seal is leaking, so I've been doing research on replacing it. I can find several good articles on sr adjustment and removal, but I can't find anything on replacing the seal. If someone has done this and would give me a shout, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Haven't done it, but it seems pretty straightforward. It just slides on to the sliding roof section from the bottom, doesn't it? Remove the slider, pull old seal off, put new seal on, reinstall, adjust roof.

Well, that's the kind of info I was looking for. The diagram at realoem isn't very clear, and the new seals aren't here yet.

If it does just slip on (no weatherstrip adhesive?), it should be a piece of cake.

I believe that you have to use an adhesive, something like Wurth Rubber Glue. I think pelicanparts has it.

Does anyone know if a E36 sunroof seal will fit the E30 as its better than the furry one you get on the E30s

The e36 appears to be one piece (longer than the 2580mm rear seal on the e30).  Perhaps you could cut it to fit.
