so I decided I might as well show everyone my e30.
It's my first car and I couldn't be happier with it. I bought it about 2 months ago and so far I haven't had the money to do much. A new trunk is on it's way though(you'll see why).
I got it for $1500 and it runs strong, the idle isn't jumpy and there's no rust on anything structural. There is a bit on it though. But even a car 4 years old without rust is rare. East Coast FTW!

My to do list (in order)
re attach the front lip (PO knocked it off going into a gas station)
body work/paint(should be getting done at the end of the month)
Drop
Wheels
than doing a mod or 2. I hear these respond really good to the Mark D chips.

And now for the pics!

There you are!

Yea yea! Diamondschwarz metallic ftw! I think its ds m at least...I'm on my phone.

Looks good though! Great first car and starting point. The markD chip should also help smooth out that idle a bit too. It helped on my previous car a lot and when I removed it I really noticed how much it had been helping.

So buy yourself a markd chip sometime soon...you'll love it.

Oh and WELCOME!

yes, Diamondschwarz Metallic FTW is right! I'm gonna get the body work done before the mark D chip, because it won't get much driving untill march/april depending on the weather.

Another DS!!! Soon we will be unstoppable!  What a great 1st car; I had to go through 2 chevy pickups from the 70's, 2 Volvos, and an MR2 to get to my 318is! Welcome to the forum. There is TONS of useful info on here, and if you can't find it through the search then someone here can help. Keep us posted for sure.

Where in the East Coast are you??

My mom used to have a house in Pictou, about 5-10 minutes from the PEI ferry, and a trailer in Sackville.

I loved the drives out there. Wicked sights. I am gonna go for a road trips out there again soon. I want to hit up that Jeep Trail. Don't know exactly where it is, but I'll figure that out once I get the money aside for gas, and a body mount fix.

Woah sorry, totally ranted there. What I wanted to say was:

You got a nice car there. I wish my car was DSM. It's a really nice color.

Are you gonna do the body work yourself? And if so, post pics as you go.

Yeah body work is a black art.

I'm good at chopping stuff off, but no good at putting it back on...

yeah, body work. paint is getting done by a long time friend of the family that runs his own body shop. takes cash under the table. AWESOME

A new shifter  (same as the stock one, the fabric is tearing off) and a K&N Air filter and an oil filter are on their way. Once they get here I'll spend an afternoon changing the air filter/fuel filter/oil filter/oil/shifter/trunk lid/ cleaning the interior again real good. It sttill smells like cigarettes. When we took it out for a test drive the PO smoked atleast 4 of them.

Shame to see our babies in the hands of smokers :(  Glad you got a hold of it!  My 318is is my first car too!  Gotta love it.  Mines Alpine though, which has it's pluses and minuses.  I'd prolly take DSM over it though, and throw on some gold shoes. =)  Good luck with the bodywork, cost me $200+ to fix my messed up front valence...  Totally worth it though, I don't spend money on anything, but I can't save any money when there's so much potential sitting in my driveway xD
