+1; if it will be great to read in a near correct English we'll be glad to help people:) Think, it's 100000x harder to me (italian) to write a "near correct" English than you;) Otherwise I'll write my suggestions in Englishtalian and don't know if you'll understand it:rolleyes:
example: tu du a turbo on a m42 iu nid dis, dis and dis uan tu, someting liche interculer, inietors end e lot ov taim end monei:D:D:cool:

ok I'll try to make an effort;)
First you need to set a power target:)

"4cylinder nd turbocharge it or if not get the s50 swap with tranny?"
it's always the same question... it's your choice. It's based on your target HP and how you drive the car, it's a personal preference. On another side if you want a daily driven 600whp monster you MUST to use the 6cyl... and if you want to hear the 6 cylinder sound you need to use that too:D

On the other side there is a 318is with 615 crank hp, but have a lot of work done and another with a good powerful 318is is user "Ludiagsm" on this forum, search his posts.

Don't bore the M42 over 86-86,5mm.
It can be stroked to 88mm with the M47 (E46 320d diesel engine) crank, but this needs some mods to be fitted.

Pistons need to be custom made under specification, but some pistons' makers have done other times m42 low CR pistons so they know the specs. Call builders like CP, JP, Wossner, Wiseco, Ross asking what you need.

If the car in object is E36 (as it should be reading that is from '94), Neukin have a bottom mount manifold for it at right price. I have it and it's bullet proof (not joking:D, but it weigth a bit) and it has great tig welds, life warranty against cracks! -> http://www.turbogoods.com/neukinbmw318turbomanifold.aspx
Otherwise if you want to risk there are crappy cheapy OBX turbo manifold for these engines, always speaking of bottom mount. 666fab.com made great top mount manifolds, but they cost A LOT of money.

if you want a premade internal kit here is it, $2,299.95:
http://www.vacmotorsports.com/catalog/cp---arrow-m42-turbo-build-kit.htm

as every preassembled kit you can have the same thing for A LOT less money if you buy each item separately.
Eagle Rods are 330$(ebay), pistons are 600-650$, cometic MLS headgasket is 130$ (ebay), arp studs are 150$(ebay) ... do the math and you can have the same things for at least 500$ less than the kit before, if not more...;)

Please post specific questions and target level, as the argument is so big with so many solutions that is impossible to tell the "right one " without knowing more:p

don't be scared about our comments about your language, another possible M42 turbo is always good ;)
P.S. welcome to the forum;)

So do I... doesn't mean you have to speak like you live in a rap video :).  I blame the parents and the schools.  Getting harder and harder to take this country seriously because of weird fads like this.

As for foreigners speaking perfect english... we're (at least I'm) not expecting you to.  I understand that it's probably your second, third, or even fourth language in some cases.  So just do the best you can and we'll help out.  LOL just be sure to put your country of origin in you profile.  :)

I agree with you completely. I also blame schools and parents. I think I am the only one, out of all of my friends I went to elementary school with, that turned 18 WITHOUT a juvi record. I'm 23 now. The main reason was the fact that I went to Advanced Placement classes. My whole high school career was college prep. But then again, since I do live in the hood, I have to be able to communicate. That's where the "nah mean" comes in. Hip hop is not my thing and I find it funny how it is the biggest fad in this country. I'll stick to my House and Trance and not chrome out my BMW because a rap song says it's cool.
Anyway, I have come accross the crossroads that will lead me to a S52 swap or a M42 turbo. It is really hard to decide. The vehicle will most likely be my DD for sometime. Reliability is a key issue in my dilema. So I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. As for power, 300 hp and maybe the same amount of torque is what I am after.
Sorry for kinda jacking the thread.....:D

ook so if i use the m47 crank it will give me more stroke an we want our target hp to be is around 650 because we want to beat all these civics that are around here but we want to do it using a 4 cylinder so they dont cry also i was looking at je pistons which make custom pisons and also to use the m47 crank would i have to get custom connecting rods and also about the head what can i do with the head??and also what modifications will i have to do to install the m47 crank?
