i just never seem to get a consistent read out from it.  Im going to try changing the SI board batteries this weekend and see if that fixes it.  But the needle some times just flicks around between halfway and 3/4.  More annoying then anything. Plus i thought a digital read out might be cool, if not a little ricey.

Hey I just changed my SI board 2 weeks ago and it solved my problem. My temp gauge did the exact same thing yours does.

how do you replace your SI board batteries? I took my instrument cluster apart last weekend (was it just me or that´s hard to do?) only to find out some gears in the odometer were broken, so that´s why my mileage won´t go up no more. Other than that, my speedo stopped working (it was fine before), RPM needle stays @ 2500 for as long as the engine is running, no matter what (same as before). But now my speedo won´t work (0 all the time) and MPG meter won´t work properly (it was fine before). I need a new cluster anyway...

First check your fuses. then you have to seperate your speedo box. Underneath the instruments you should find a computer board. I would just replace the whole thing. I wouldn't worry about just the batteries. And as for the gears mine went bad some years ago too. A local speedometer shop should possibly have a set for you. If not try http://www.bavauto.com I know they will. Good luck.
