What is your personal opinion on IE3 or H&R Race springs
« on: September 10, 2008, 09:46:04 PM »
The IE3 and H&R Race are the stiffest springs out there that are readily available and are stock replacement.  Have any of you used them and what is your impression?  I have used Eibach Pro and found them to be way too soft.

I also want a pretty radical drop, however...

Want it low and stiff.  No argument about functionality its just how I want it.

I like the H&R Race  over the IE3s.

But the IEs are cheap, progressive(better ride) and perform well(had them on my 325).  With Bekkers front drop hats I think the IE3s look great.

About the same price too.

I should hold out for that...  It's only the front, though, right?

H&R race are progressive springs as well.

IE3's and H&R races also have the same spring rate.

IE3's just make you sit funny.

that is for front and rear. its also the setup i have and i love it. definately worth the extra effort in my opinion. i wish i woulda done it first instead of riding around on just springs & shocks. plus you can set the ride height however you want.

Thanks for the clarification.  That is what I am going to get... what rates did you use?  I am thinking 350 in front and 450 in rear...

I know, I hated it.  I went to TC Kline coilovers with Koni SA's and still haven't got a picture of the new stance yet.  The spring rates I went with are 400f 500r.
