Informal survey; help me choose
« on: September 09, 2008, 01:43:18 PM »
I am having my two front seats reupholstered.  It's a Diamondschwartz car with tan vinyl interior.  The driver's seat is torn all to hell, but I'm just gonna have both recovered.

Trying to decide between leather and cloth.  Bear in mind that I live in Wisconsin with extreme temperatures.

Activley soliciting your thoughts.

I prefer heated leather, but that's me - easier to keep clean if nothing else. If you maintain it, it will look better longer, too. Cloth is more comfy in the cold, though!

I am a big leather fan. Just refinished my vert with leather and couldn't be happier.

I have tan vinyl... I wish it had cloth, because I hate the feel BUT others are right that tan cloth stains like no tomorrow.

If I was in your shoes I'd stick with leather because for cloth to look right you'd have to do the rears too.

I have always preferred the feel of cloth over leather or vinyl. It just creates more friction between the seat and your clothes and seems to hold you a bit better. A similar fabric that is used in race seats would suit me just fine. It also won't be ass biting cold and won't crack due to the extreme cold.

Isn't leather going to be like 4x the cost?  At least?
