I remember seeing these YEARS AGO..Very popular in the 70's.

They are made to lower (or raise) a vehicle with coil springs. Anyone ever use these in anything they have owned? Seems like a fast way to lower one of our cars without the hassle of new springs and sport shocks. Wouldn't improve handling, but merely for looks. May blow regular shocks though if springs are compressed.

Will it work? yes
Will it work well? probably not
Will it cause other issues? maybe

Think of what happens at full compression with a metal shackle in the way. Might cause issues.

Popular in the 70's because there were basically only two options to lower coils on a vehicle. Those clamps and an oxy-acetoline torch! clamps = easy.
They just compromise the spring giving it a stress point that can cause premature failure. Bite the bullet, buy springs. Just my opinion though.

your going to loose more then the travel you tighten those up as well because the thickness of the bracket will be taking up the space for the coil above and below to travel.

Bit the bullet and get a decent set of springs... they're not THAT expensive.

Let me put it this way... they were popular in the 70's for a reason. Don't think about it. It would be better and cheaper just to cut the coil.
