Subjective brake question

Do you think stainless steel brake lines are worth it?  I am replacing rotors, pads, perhaps calipers too, and wondering if I should swap in the SS lines.

Is it a DD? Are you going to keep the car for a long time? If yes, I think it's probably worth it. I did mine, the old rubber ones were dry rotted and cracking but still functional. Not bad for a 17 yr old car.

If they are the original lines, I would replace them anyways. Then see the difference in price. I have them on my DD and enjoy the firmer feel. The also look nice underneath as I have the UUC ones, which are teflon coated blue. The rubber over time has stretched from expanding as fluid moves thru it.

If you can afford it, do it. You will still need to do the hard work of getting them out by the diff, and it can be a pain.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that it's a daily driver and I'm in the middle of a massive grounds-up restoration.  

I like a firm pedal as well.

Yes, absolutely worth it.  The difference in pedal feel is night & day.  Some stainless lines and a good bleed makes the brakes feel like new (not that I would really know what that feels like though lol).

Then again, maybe some brand new OEM lines would feel good too.  I have always replaced the worn stockers on the cars I own with stainless ones, so maybe new rubber ones feel as good.  I say spend the extra $40 or whatever.

Stainless steel lines allow you to "feel" the brakes allot more than rubber lines, because the information coming from the brakes isnt dampened by the expansion in the lines.

I know that response sounds weird but thats the best way i can describe them.
