Where to buy o2 sensor for a good price?
« on: June 21, 2008, 11:04:46 PM »
Should I splice one in or buy an OEM?  $150 or so is hard to swallow for the OEM o2 sensor but of course it would plug right up without splicing.

Is there a common sensor (Bosch?  etc?) that everyone uses?

Thanks!

You can get one for a 94 Mustang 5.0 and splice it in using the weather-proof connectors provided in the box.  (At least the Bosch brand has these connectors)
Should be about $55 or so.

I bought my universal 4-wire on ebay for $25 shipped, simply cut the plug with enough of the wires exposed to reach like stock and use the connectors to connect the new sensor. Took all of 10 minutes to do and is much more cost effective than oem, because aren't the bosch connectors on these cars like $40 by themselves?

Great tip. I needed an O2 sensor for my X3 but was chaffing at the $150 price tag (not to mention $225 from the stealer). Rockauto
= Bosch oem $55.  Gotta love that.
