Guage senders!!
« on: June 19, 2008, 06:22:02 PM »
My friends given me a set of Autotech guages, with the holder.   I have oil pressure, water temp and volts.   They are electrical.

Volts is easy, but where can I put the oil pressure sender, and the water temp sender?   My friends 325 had convenient places already tapped for senders to go, but my M42 doesnt seem to have anything, so looks like its T peices and tapping holes.   Still need to buy the senders, as he didnt give me them.

Thanks!

you could probably just use a tee at the factory oil pressure switch located on the oil filter housing.

I used a y-block from gaugeman.com (which no longer exists) to tap at the existing oil pressure sender, which is at the inboard base of the oil filter canister.

You may be able to have one made...  somewhere...   Sorry, that's probably not a lot of help, is it?  :(

You would have to find the right size but something like this should work:

My Audi factory setup used something like this for the Oil pressure and Oil Temp gauges.
