Detailed oil system info?

I am looking for detailed oil flow information for the M42.

I am especially interested in technical drawings/flow data for the M42 oil filter housing.

What I am finding is a lot of crap being trapped in the filter housing. Their is a check valve inline with the oil pressure switch and then their are 2 more also. The other two I can't figure out how to open with out damaging them. One of the 2 is the one thats in the upper bore that goes into the side of the front chain cover.

My reasons for wanting this information are twofold. 1) I want to see how any future engine builds could be enhanced in the area of oil pressure and flow. 2) I have noticed the problem of debris being trapped in the housing. Nothing like having built a new engine only to have all the old bearing material washed right through the new engine. Kinda of a freak out when you drain the oil and find a whole shit pot of old bearing debris in your fresh motor oil.

Submersion in a vat of boiling water should solve the problem.  Then test the passageways with a blast of air?

Sorry, I'm not much help.  But I have seen oil flow diagrams for the M10/M20/M30/S14 engines.  I assume flow diagrams must exist for the M42.

One would assume.  Other one is having a devil of a time finding them.

Without pulling off the back half of the chain case, it's a pain to
figure oil flow around the filter housing.  I'm giving up and taking
pressure off the back of the head.  Yay.

I am working an oil issue now. Three bolts in the pan, some old chain debris as well. Luckily the bolts didn't go through the pickup screen. I have the front covers off and the chain and all associated parts are new. The new tensioner had no oil in it, so this is another oil flow path you may want to check. If this is blocked, you will have another mess with the chain flopping on the guide rail. The motor I am working luckily (I hope) did not run long with low pressure otherwise I am looking at bearings too. After reading this, the oil filter assembly is coming off too, I will try compressed air to blow the crap out with the oil pan and covers off. I am also weighing using the brake parts cleaner--the spray stuff--backwards through the oil channels to see what comes out and where. I have no desire to rip the motor completely apart.
