A/C

So my A/C doesn't work, and I don't ever plan fixing it.

I have owned two trucks already, a 79' chevy pickup, and an 89' burb. The 79' never came with a/c, and the 89' was drained, so I gutted everything a/c out of it.

So I wanted to know if anyone on here has gutted the A/C equipment from their car. I figure since it's not in use (and never will be), I can shave some weight by ditching the equipment.

I kind of have a fetish with weight savings.... I managed to get a lifted burb to weigh the same as a stock blazer.

A/C delete is easy, but to really do the job right, you need to remove the evaporator and fan in front of the radiator.

I am really tempted to do this on mine too as the A/C doesn't work super but does the job. I know if I get rid of it it'll really be what turns this from daily use to weekend sport use only. I haven't yet begun modding it but in the back of my mind is that idea that at any time I can sell it and get into something else before "making it mine". Sort of a point of no return you know?

The compressor and bracket are very heavy and i hear the front A/C fan is heavy too.

Nomad, your "point of no return" argument is a good one. A/C removal typically means that you just lost a big chunk of your potential buyers on resale. I wouldn't take it out if yours still "kinda" works.
