Steering parts.
« on: May 09, 2008, 02:59:22 PM »
My front wheels are loose. Two tie- rods are dead and I need to replace them. What brand should I pick ? If I change the entire assembly, will the securing plate come with the assembly or do I need to order the plate from the dealership ?

I just ordered the entire setup to replace both my tie rods. I ordered mine through autohausaz.com. It was 68.50 shipped. The locking plates are not included when you order tie rods. They have to be ordered separately.
Opinions on brands will vary...I bought the Karlyn brand. If you want to pay 3x the price go with Lemfoerder. Below is the list with part numbers:

2 --- 32111124540     Lock Plate for Tie Rod to Steering Rack
2 --- 32111125186     Tie Rod Assembly; Outer Left/Right with Ball Joint
4 --- 32111126568     Rack & Pinion Boot; Inner/Outer Steering Rack Boot Clamp
2 --- 32111127104     Rack & Pinion Boot; Left/Right
