be carefull with lightening a 4 cylinder crank... my engine man who builds in his company s14 engine to dtm specs. said that this 4 cylinder cranks produces a high frequence vibration that destroys them self... removing wheight means making the crank weaker. i have seen such "two-piece" cranks..! it doesnt look very nice..  thats the reason why i only balanced my crank for the new engine..

with blading and polishing you can remove a "lot" of weight.. 1-2kg for sure..

Thanks for the info swiss.

Your right, il have to be very carefull with lightening the crank, which is further complicated by offset grinding as it moves the conrod connection point outwards, which would give it a higher mechanical advantage.

I was just thinking about this option today. What did you end up doing, RouteZeroDesign? And what conrod were you planning to use (or end up using)?

Wonder what SCAT would charge you to make one? Probably more than the S42

Hmm.
