Time has come to change my brakes since my rotors are warped. I would like know what I should get. I want a good quality. Rotors are going to be changed. BALO, AIMCO, ZIMMERMAN, ATE, BREMBO. What brand should I pick ? The brake pads should be change also. PAGID, TEXTAR, JURID, RAYBESTOS. I guess you all know what is the question.

I prefer the Brembo blanks. Great reputation and a quality product for the price.

As for pads... That really depends. Pagid and Hawk pads are usually recommended from what I've seen.

What are you using the car for? If its a daily driver, I would suggest the brembo blanks and maybe a HAWK HPS for pads, you would see a slight increase in brake performance. The stock brakes on these cars are really pretty good and in my opinion unless your tracking them you really don't need to do a whole lot to improve them. And if you do track them upgrading to a track pad does the trick well without all new parts.

If you track or AutoCross is I might make different suggestions.

I have the Brembo OEM rotors and Hawk HPS pads (front only), which I installed last November. Works well and a nice bonus has also been that these pads don't produce too much brake dust. I have only used these on the street but did purchase them with the occasional autocross in mind.

Info I've frequently come across or know from personal experience:
-Zimmerman drilled rotors are notorious for cracking (leads me to assume poor quality)
-Never heard of or had single problem with Brembo products
-90% or more of the time brake discs don't warp, but instead the brake pad material gets overheated and makes uneven deposits. In your case, chances are that your brakes pads don't suit your driving style.

I second the Brembo OEM blanks and Hawk HPS pads.

another vote for Brembos as well - I've had great success w/ them on my prior E36 M3 and my Cobra came from the factory w/ Brembos. Hit up a few of the Vendor sites, as you can get really good prices on the Brembos from those Vendors.

I have zimmerman x-drilled rotors thanks to the previous owner and have had no problems. The car doesn't see track time, just autocross.

Nick-what pads would you recommend for a good balance of autoX/street use? I really don't care about dust.

I just replaced my brakes recently as well. I choose the ATE Premium rotors with Mintex Red pads, steel brake lines and blue brake fluid. The ATE rotors are just slightly more expensive than other rotors. So far so good, the system works really well. No squeaking and not very much dust.

For street and light AutoX use, I think Brembo blanks with Axxis Ultimate pads are super. The Brembo's don't warp, and with the Axxis ultimate pads I don't have fading issues. These pads have nice cold bite, and are great when warm. The dust is not bad either, definitely less than stock.

I presently have Zimmerman X-Drilled rotors on the car just because I wanted to try them & got a good deal. So far, they have not cracked or warped. I had used ATE PowerSlot discs in the past, and they warped like crazy. I was not impressed.

The next set of rotors will be Brembo blanks.
