I purchased some used vogtland springs to later find out they were made for the 325is. Looking up Vogtland's website, there are different model numbers for the 2 cars.

Has anyone installed springs specific for the 325is? I'm just worried about a very noticable rake (backend much lower than front) due to the extra weight of the m20 engine vs. ours. Post a pic if you have one.

The ride will certainly be stiffer...and you won't get the same drop, maybe a couple of mm's less.

325 has a lot more weight on the front axle.

I've heard of people getting 325 H&R cup kits by accident and they get horrible understeer which would be expected.

The shocks for a 325 will be indentical though, just the springs are different.
The M3 springs are exactly the same to the iS ones too by the way

So did you install the Vogtlands? How do you like them?

I'm torn on vogtlands for a low stiff ride (not a daily) or H&R sports (softer) to keep the oil pan happy.

I'm leaning towards Vogtlands and possibly getting thicker spring pads.

why do you get under steer when you put 325 springs on the 318is? is it because the are stiffer, or?

I just installed 325 H&R Sports on my car and it lowered it probably at least 1.5" all around. With the low oil pan and living in a large city, I don't think I'd want the front any lower. I think it looks fantastic too.

I'm runnin the m3 Ireland Engineering stage 3's and got a good drop , not noticably different than the 325's on Ireland's or anything.

i have installed 325 springs on my 318is , and the problem i had is that , because the engine on the 325 is heavyer , the front springs are stiffer , but the rear springs are the same , so the problem that occured is that the front end of the car is higher than the rear end , the front wing has 5cm gap from the wheel and the rear wing has no gap at all...yes the car is stiffer overall but when you look at it , it is not so good.... i had to make some adaptors for the rear springs , so the height of the rear end be the same with the front end...
