what are the best mods to get good gains from a m42? and whats the biggest bhp recorded on this site? and whos car?

Unless you are willing to spend a lot of money.  A chip and a lightweight flywheel are your best options to improve acceleration.

On the most HP do you want NA power or Turbo/Supercharger Power. Downing Atlanta Supercharger makes around 200bhp and it's a bolt on kit. There is also a company called Metric Mechanic check out their website it has tons of cool m42 stuff on there, Febi Guibo has one of their motors, and his car is fast. Also there's a kid on r3vlimited.com putting a Bored & Stroked M42 in his car with a turbo, it looks insane. i am willing to spend the money but would rather stay n/a. i dont want to upgrade all the internals. unless these kits fit standard. i'd be willing to fit cams but dont know what cam to fit. chip remap etc are all on the cards but i want to know what best increases the power etc from previous experiance

Megasquirt!, CAM: Intake: 262° Duration / 11.15mm Lift Exhaust: 228° Duration / 9.0 Lift. Drop in K&N filter. 2.5" full exhaust. magnaflow is good, little ricy though. MeganRacing makes a great sounding muffler for M42s, A good resonater is a must. and an MM m20 lightened flywheel with an M20 starter. or an M42 alum. one. with all this you could run a 3.91 small case LSD. it rips. around 155/165hp to the wheels.
