Hey 250... I want to buy up one of these chips sometime too. How did it go? Noticeable power increase? Car "demeanor"? I've read about lots of other engines on Mark's chip (mostly 5 series people have great reactions) Anyone on here have any remarks?

Without even considering the power increase, think that when you rev the motor up to 7100, the next gear will be that much higher in the powerband. That's what I like best, it makes more power at every RPM and every throttle position, but that extra 600 RPMs is where it's at. And these motors absolutely scream at 7000RPM, it's well worth what he charges for them.

I'm not really sure power wise. I do know that both know their stuff, but I would rather send my money to Mark, as he just seems more grassroots. Mark also offers a 93 octane chip and his M42 chip turns the redline up to 7100 rather and 7000. It probably isn't that much different, but M42 guys seem to prefer Mark D for one reason or another.

I went in Mark D's website but I could not find one for my e36 M42. Does it matter? Does having an automatic matter?

Email him. He will get one for you. I am currently emailing him back and forward about the E36 M42 chips. Great guy, and I can't wait to buy one!

I made chips for most of the E36 M42's, but there are some odd varioations of software in those and it's best if you can send me both the DME number, such as 0 261 203 282, and the software number which is found on the label of your stock chip. This is because I have to send you the proper software number, or the car may not start.

Yes I need to know if you have an auto or manual transmission for these cars.

is there any chance you could make a chip with the timing maps a few degrees retarded with 24lb injectors? I want to run a little more boost without the fear of detonation due to the timing being advanced to much

I just bought a '91 318is yesterday and the previous owner had a Dinan chip put in. Any ideas how this Dinan chip compares to the Mark D chip?

I went to Mark D's web site and I couldn't find the HP and Torque numbers for his chips. Do any of you what the peak gain is and at what RPM?
