Hey guys this is my first post here, my name's John, I bought my M42 back in Jan... I've had it since, I'm 17, bought it with my own money I earned... here's some before and after pics... but first here's the specs

Did you do the M42 conversion or did you buy it like that?

I have an 89 318i and I did an M42 conversion on mine... M40 -> M42 = 20hp more special :P

We didn't get the M40 in North America, even 318i sedans came with the M42 although our M42 is not as powerful as the M42 in europe.

+1 came with it.... it's a 91 if i didn't post it... i wish it was as powerful... but man, i can get some mean speed with this... i'm not worried about power too much anyway... i'm more doing little body stuff here and there... i did my own blackout grille that you see in the pic there.... and  i'm doing my all red tailights today or tomorrow..

...can you believe i'm only 17...:cool:

yep 91' 318i's came w/ the m42, the only other is the 91' 318is obv. The early e36 318is's had the m42 also
