stock conrods boost levels?
« on: February 22, 2008, 10:35:18 AM »
anybody out there who has pushed stock conrods in an m42 to breaking point?

im running 22psi and i have stock rods, im planning on pushing that upto 25psi

but im starting to worry about the rods....

i have been told they should handle 20psi, well i know for a fact they do, but how far can i keep pushing?

I thought the rods are forged on m42s, the pistons are cast iirc.

So you'll have stock rods with forged pistons at 25psi? What headgasket you have now?

please give us some more info on pistons ( diameter and stuff ) and more info on gasket ( thickness )

i am planning to go to cometic gasket for pressure drop ( stock internals ) 9:1 so i can go to 0,8 - 0,9 bar press...so some more info would be good...
