Well the software still isn't ready. I'm going with a normal chip for the moment.
I used new Lucas 36lbs injectors.

I'll post updates as soon as it's completely ready.

I still have some bugs to work out in order to get it to run 100%.
After that dyno + race with e46 330i and vw golf gti edition 30...not necessarily in that order. :)

Looks like there aren't any good solutions for supercharging these engines.  Guess I'll have to go turbo like everyone else.

What software are you running?  If piggyback, whose doing your chip?  That manifold looks pretty sick after wrapping, must have cost $ to fabricate.  Nice work and keep the updates coming.

In 1st gear starts around 5000rpm
    2nd ~4000rpm
    3rd ~3500rpm
Didn't check to see at what rpms i reach full boost.
Now i'm running only on a remaped ECU. Will switch to emanage soon.
The manifold was around 450$.
Smoked a 330i last night. He had no chance, not with a standing start, not when rolling, we hit it 7 or 8 times. So i guess that's good news. :D

Doing a DIY turbo is a lot easier than DIY supercharger.
You don't have a belt, and all my difficulties were with its alignment. I give up my S/C to go with turbo for this problem.
It's a lot difficult to align the belt with others. Even when it seems aligned it will jump out of the pulley and create damage!
It's not a safe build, or it's not a one time build, if not build with CNC tools and engine removed. It's not easy as you pick the compressor and put it in there.
It weight IIRC 9kg, you need to note this when you're doing the brackets that needs to be precise at millimeter and need to sustain that weight that will become bigger under load from belt.

Sure it had a lot of torque at low revs, but if you learn to choice the right turbo you can have a full spool of 7 psi at 3000revs or even before. I thought that I wanted to have a lot of torque at very low revs, but this engine is not a truck...it needs to be revved, so why change it's nature.
It will be more safer to the engine and more funny with a torque where is it as N/A engine, so near 4000-4500 revs. If you're driving under that rev range, you're saving fuel...;) if you want to go fast just downshift, the gearbox is there for that!

A second thing my eaton S/C was VERY loud because I had the throttle body after it:D(because there wasn't space).
I was just scaring people even if at 2000-2500 revs... it was too in view. You know the high pitched sound of an ambulance, mine was like that:D now I have all for my turbo build, need only to find a week of time to fit all, and drill the pan.
I'm not saying that it's impossible to do it, but it's more difficult than turbo.
I want to enjoy my car, not that she leaves me by foot because of the belt that for a week seems fine and the week after it jumped out.

this is my experience:cool:

Vladi, updates? how is going your boosted drive?:)
