I was planning on repairing the stripped cylinder head cover bolt holes with HeliCoils but after more research I'm thinking Timeserts will be a better choice to avoid further complications down the road. Never done them before myself but I'm willing to try. Planning on buying the kit. Motor is in the car. Any advice / info much appreciated. Thanks

Timecerts are the move... I have used many in oil pans, the aluminum m52 blocks, etc... They are a lot better and more reliable than heli-coils. You need to be careful when your drilling and tapping, like anything else to make sure it goes in nice and straight... I Highly recommended TIMECERTS! let me know if you have anymore questions.

They seem a bit pricey. The timeserts themselves are reasonable but the installation kit is $158 at Pelican Parts.

Yeah I went with the Timeserts. Haven't installed them yet, my drill isn't the best so I might get a different one. Wurth sells Timesert kits for $100 and additional inserts are $14 for 10. You also get a choice mild or stainless.

Finally repaired the stripped threads in the head and upper timing chain cover using Timeserts. Did the cover on a bench and the head in the car. Very good quality, highly recommended.
