I have been around for a while but have never made an “about me” post until now.

My car is a 186,00 mile 1991 318is, brilliantrot, LSD, manual locks, and manual sunroof.  I bought her in June 2006 and have loved her ever since.

I have made a couple changes but nothing significant. (mod lists are gay)
  • MarkD 91 octane chip
  • Z4 3.0 shifter with new shift knob
  • Coil on Plug conversion
  • AC and power steering delete
  • Period-correct Momo steering wheel
  • A bunch of maintenance

I cornerweighted my car and it weighs 2460 lbs with 54/46 weight distribution with a full tank.

I autocross like it is my job.

In the past I have owned a couple of turbo Volvos, an ’85 318i, and an '89 325is.

Hoosiers FTW!!!

I see that you've been down to bush stadium with the CCA. I got a chance to ride in that Lambo once, it is an amazing car! Maybe I'll see you at the upcoming autocrosses. The CCA lost the Bush parking lot, so I'm not sure where we'll go :(.

Anyway, nice car. Lovin the old school Corolla :)

Not really feeling the red trim, red cars need more contrast.

You say you cornerweighted, you on coilovers?

I don't like the red trim either, it was done before I got the car.

I am on stock suspension, my race team just had a set of corner scales out, so I measured my car.

Did you actually delete the PS or just remove the belt?

Good stuff. I like the lightweightedness of your car and I love the Corolla.

What tires are you using for autocross and what pressures are you running?

I have run A6's and V710's for R-comps and falkin ziex for street this year.

I use a pyrometer to check pressures but usually set around 37 front and 35 rear on street tires.  I actually keep a logbook and vary my pressures depending on what surface/venue we are at.  I would highly suggest keeping a logbook it has helped me a lot.

Thats me driving my buddy's 1.6 litre miata

Autocross season has begun!
I have been to two races so far and have over a dozen more planned this year.

This summer the car is getting a complete overhaul.
Plans so far
  • Foglights
  • Trim is being painted black
  • electric fan
  • waterpump
  • ALL rubber replaced, all load bearing parts replaced with poly
  • H&R sport springs
  • billy sport shocks
  • maybe swaybars if the budget works out.  (where is the cheapest place to buy the ST's?)

oh and I am doing a bunch of bodywork too, I have some rust issues :(

I have a bit of an update.  I have been racing all summer.  It has been an awesome summer.  I am back at school again for my senior year (mechanical engineering).

I have replaced the entire cooling system, put in my foglights, and I am in the middle of my suspension build.

I went with koni yellows and Ireland Engineering stage III springs.

I got all my poly from AKG, and it is really nice stuff.

I broke my rear differential cover trying to get the new bushing in, which sucks because the whole project should be done by now.  Now I have to wait for the UPS man.

I am really excited about it.

I got it all done, and it is everything I dreamed of and more.  It is A LOT more comfortable than I expected.  There is virtually no body roll and it feels very tight and responsive.

It is awesome.  :-)
